I haven't done it yet, but since Cindy Drozda gave her demo several months back everyone at our turner's meeting has been raving about using a negative rake grind on their scrapers and how wonderful it is to use. (We have a very accomplished and well recognized group at our meetings, myself NOT included, and they all seem to be very supportive of this grind.) I'm certain someone here could better explain it, but basically you gind a slight bevel on the top of the scraper effectively lowering the cutting edge just below the top of the scraper.
