>They are great to hollow with. Cut with the edge on the left side. You can use the edge horizontal, which is more aggressive. If you roll the tool a little counter clockwise it takes more of shearing cut. The size we use is the 3/8". They are a lot less expensive than most turning tools, and they are high-speed steel. I've seen the work you do. I'm sure you'll pick up the technique right away.
