I don't find scrapers hard to use at all but then I started out with them before I learned what bevel rubbing was all about on the gouges.

I just ground one of my flat scrapers to a negative rake and on initial testing it doesn't work as well for me. The Juries still out. I'm sure I will need to do a little testing. So far it doesn't seem to raise as agood a burr. I'll have to test some angles to see if I can improve on it.

Stewart batty had a negative rake round nose scraper that seemed to work miracles in his hands. I plan to build one as soon as I get time.
