I'm not quite clear on what exactly you mean here? When you say.... "the sides meet the entry hole at such a steep angle" ....are you talking about the outer curve of the collar....or are you referring to the sides of the actual hole going into the vessel? Also when you say... "nice collared pieces that I've seen approach the horizontal as they approach the entry hole"...could you explain this? Are you talking about putting a horizontal flat on the edges of the collar? I struggle with almost every collar I make and would love to understand more what Art is talking about here....as I do admire both his and Wally's collars! I guess you could say I have collar envy :)
