Brad
>Earl, Over the years I have run into several "great buys" on old, used woodworking tools. I spent many hours cleaning and reparing these machines, hours that could have been spent working on wood. Parts for these machines are usually impossible to find, so expensive modifications have to be made. I have sold most of the old tools, usually at a loss. I gave others away just to make room for something more reliable. My advice is: If you love to tinker with old tools quickly offer about $200.00 for the lathe, be quick because some other guy that thinks he is getting a great buy will snap it up. If you want to turn wood buy a good modern tool, one that you can easily buy a part for when something breaks or wears out. All the brand name midi lathes are a great way to start.
