I'm going to boil them. I have my barrel set up, so all I need is some time to rough, and some firewood. I am going to try firing the "boiler" with firewood and perhaps some coal. I don't know if the coal will get enough draft to burn, but if it doesn't, I have enough scrap lumber left lying around from former tenants here to supply me for a long time. I might also try charcoal.

I bought some boards of this stuff a number of years ago, and it was severely checked along the rings. I was able to make some short pieces and small boxes. Beautiful stuff, but this is all going to be reserved for turning I think.
