>Choke Cherry (prunus virginiana) is a much smaller tree that would rarely reach 20' height, or more than about 6" diameter. It would usually be considered a shrub, and often grows in dense thickets.

It can have some pretty grain, depending on its growing site, but its small diameter would not be something that we could use for anything other than pens. I have found it with red streaks in the white wood, and that does make a pretty pen.
