I do not turn pens and I need a question answered. I heard some where the blanks need to be 3/4 by 3/4 by 5 inch's long. Can a pen be made out of a blank 4 1/2 inch long? I have a lot of ends of planks that I have cut into bowl blanks. There is a lot of left over wood that I will be burning this winter. I am trying to figure out what else I can do with it. Apple, chrrry, black walnut, mulberry, oak, and maple.
