Subject:
Does anyone have a horror story involving a glove?
Response To:
It Burns! - gloves ()

Steven Antonucci
We repeat the conventional wisdom about loose fitting gloves and rings, and it's probably a best practice to go it barehanded, but I wondered if anyone has actualy had an accident because they were wearing a glove (and it got caught?) I don't think I've ever seen one here?

I use one for roughing drier material, which tends to heat up moreso than green wood. You can also slow your cut or sharpen more often to reduce the heat. For me, it is less about the heat than the wood slamming against my hand during aggressive roughing, and I always have my gloved hand on the tool behind the rest.
