I use a fairly heavy duty leather glove with the just enough cut off to expose the first knuckle. Also have a short and close fitting to the wrist as not to have the wood catch it. Since I turn right and left I wear gloves on both hands. What I have now are gloves for a person in a manual wheelchair. Call me if you need to.
