Charlie-these little pieces you are doing are wonderful. Personally I think the black finial works best. It ties the piece together by uniting the 2 black features. The lighter one seems out of place-to me. A manzanita finial might look good so I guess yo'll have to turn one so we can make a finial(or is that final) decision.
