JCCFS misadventures... *PIC*

Mike Stafford
Teaching a class of woodturners is one of the most enjoyable things that I can do. Sometimes I am surprised by what some of the students try to do on the lathe.

Yesterday afternoon I was surprised. I was making my rounds up and down the aisles and WC denizen Don Leydens decided it was time to slice the ice cold watermelon that he had brought for an afternoon snack. To say he was trying to do it in a most unusual way is an understatement. Normally what happens at John C. Campbell stays at John C. Campbell but this was too good to pass up..... I took the gouge out of his hand and handed him the proper tool which of course is a skew..... :D

Along with Don, Jamie Donaldson, Joe Bradshaw and George Taylor are other WC regulars who are helping to populate the class. We are having a wonderful time and each evening we are having a great time doing enrichment activitities with various vintages of the fruit of the vine.
