My favorite bandsaw gadget is Carter's log sled. I bought it with a gift certificate, hoping it would work half as well as it appeared. It works twice as well. Gets a flat on a log in no time and forces your hands out of the dangerzone for a supported -- unsupported cut. I use this instead of the chainsaw for splitting short logs now. It can also cut short dimensional boards and veneers. It can easily be duplicated very cheaply in the shop. And thank you Ed Moore for reminding us all.... Respect the bandsaw.
