I never had shop in school because I went to a private school. I did do several woodworking projects at the local Boy's Club, one of which I still have. While shop did not impact me, it did my son. Shop will soon be a thing of the past with school budgets being drastically cut and insurance premiums rising with no end in sight. If we truly want shop to be a part of the school experience, we will not only have to fight for it, we will have to find a new generation of teachers willing to teach it. Just my two cents.
