I tried the alcohol dipping on a couple green ruff turned cherry bowls and a couple of cherry bowl blanks ( just a round hunk of wood). I soak them for 4 hour's then dried then on a rack over night. Did that over and over for a couple of days. The ruff turned bowls did lose weight and the blanks did not. But they where small enough to finish drying in a microwave.
