Subject:
Why is everything on the computer so hard

John Lucas
OK I shot my first video on my new Nikon D5100. Let me first say the manual and even the 550 page book I bought, suck. Whoever writes these things sure can't explain how to use the camera. I did finally figure out how to make the video and use some of the controls.
So I go to download it and nothing happens. If I'm reading things correctly I may have to buy a $35 program to convert my Nikon files to something that Imovie can read. I'm not even sure that is correct. I'll check with my Boss on Monday. He's had to deal with this because our writers are using the D5100 as video cameras. I don't remember anyone having to use a converter program.
So far everything I've had to do to make the movies I make is difficult and frustrating. I guess I'm just not a computer guy.
Give me a cutting tool of any kind and I'll make it work. Give me something electronic and I would have much more fun shooting the darn thing with my 45.
