I do quite a bit of carving in making bowls and hollow forms with spirals on the outside. I use an Arbortek reciprical carver and love it. Although it is loud when you are right on it, it is fast and stronger than most anything out there. It is a quality tool meant to do a lot of work. No affiliation, just a very satisfied customer.
