Subject:
I'm thinking about a lexan guard

John Lucas
This was an odd project the pieces weren't sticking out very far so minor hurt was all they did. However I'm going to start on some single piece mirrors that will have a handle sticking out 8 to 10" from the 5 1/2" mirror body. You can't even see that when it swings past.
I'm toying with building a plexiglass guard that goes around the chuck and sticks out slightly further than the largest mirror I plan to build. It won't stop you from hitting the handle if you stick your hand in there but since it will be a solid disc right behind the handle it will be very easy to see so I think your chances would be greatly reduced. I would use colored plexi so I could see it easier.
