I made it for a youth turner as a safe and cheap sharpening alternative.

Below is a picture using the setup to sharpen a skew. Of course you don't get a hollow grind so refining the edge with a hone does not give you the two control points for a good job. But it works, and you can use a fine grit belt. Change to course when reshaping or major cleanup is necessary.

Thought of making another for traveling or demos since it is light weight and handy.
