Steve I'm more or less in the same boat, but different chucks. I have Oneway Talons and the No. 3 jaws which just tear tenons off when coring anything bigger than 14-16" wet blanks. So I switched to a Oneway 8" face plate on the bigger stuff. I turn a foot the same size as the faceplate and only use the 12 screw holes at the rim. Using No 12 sheet metal screw just long enough to go into the tenon 1/2" - 5/8" allows the foot to be returned and screw holes removed wasting about the same amount of wood as a chuck tenon would.
I also have a Vicmarc100 chuck and that uses dovetail jaws and also will take the Talon jaws. Dovetail jaws do need a tenon that fits the perfect circle formed by the jaws to work well. So you loose the size range that's possible with the Oneway profile jaws. There's an explanation why on the Oneway site.
Having said all that I'm definitely adding to my chuck arsenal 1 Axminster Goliath with the Type M Mega jaws and a set of O'Donnell jaws. You just can't have too many chucks and the Axminster are a high quality product manufactured in a new facility in the UK. They are having trouble meeting UK orders right now, probably because of the LV deal :) Considerable savings when compared with a Stronghold and no O'Donnells
