Thanks, Carole. I reallzed that, and bent them at their narrow ends, but they flex and don't break. I'm thinking the same, that little stress will save them. I had a nice slab of this wood and made two 13" bowls from it, still working on the other one. That piece for the servers was the left over, and not strictly cross grain, but a diagonal, so I went for it. You are right though, and if they fail someday, would have to be replaced for a buyer. They seem strong enough. I was pretty rough on them, testing them.
