We have a similar problem with mesquite here in central Texas. Course, worm holes and worm tracks actually enhance the wood for some people.

You can walk by the wood pile and actually here the critters "hummin". The larvae are messy when turning at 500 or up rpm!

A garbage bag and a open bottle or container of household ammonia works for me.
