I thought the app was a good deal. $2.99 for the iPad app (one time) and includes one copy of the magazine (my choice of the digital issues). Within the app I can subscribe at a discounted rate or buy single issues if I like. I can also preview other issues to help me decide if I want to purchase or not.

The app is by Tri Media and I can read my purchased magazines on my pc (www.pocketmags.com) if I want rather than on the iPad.
