One thing you will probably notice...I wasn't wearing a face-shield when turning the winged bowl. I am acutely aware that this sends a wrong signal to anyone attempting such a piece, and made those in the audience aware of it. Throughout this part of the demo, I pointed out the techniques I use to ensure the piece stays on the lathe, and the other precautions one must take when turning one of these. I have a modified hockey helmet/shield I use when I turn in my shop.
