I agree with what has been said. I will leave the logs with the ends sealed as long as I can out of the sun and covered with a tarp. When roughing a bowl I agree with John to round over the lip edges of the bowl. I coat the whole bowl with anchorseal and let that dry. I don't use the shavings or the bag anymore. I store them in a room that stays about 65 to 70 degrees year round with not much air movement. I stack them on the floor not more than 3 ft high. Depending on the wood it is ready to return in about 9 months to a year. It is extra work but I started roughing a bunch of bowls every so often. Now I have a stash that is ready to return to the lathe to finish. As I finish a few I also do a fresh batch of roughing green wood. That keeps a supply going.
