Subject:
Spiders and Snakes

Barry Irby
I was one an inspection on day and about to go from the basement into the crawl space when the seller announced that a spider had her "home" in the opening and she did not want me to kill her. Would I move her out side, perhaps to the hedge? Wat kind of spider is it? Black Widow. Nope, You can move her but as for me, the only good Black Widow is a dead Black Widow.

I glued up something in my shop and sued about twenty clamps, including two black band clamps and laid the two things in a pile. Next morning I went down while talking on the cell phone and started removing the clamps. As I reached fr the second clamp, I realized one of the band clamps was moving. A black snake had come in, climbed up onto the bench, and intertwined itself into the pile of stuff. I actually took its picture before I picked it up and threw it outside, far enough away to discourage it from returning.

My son loves and raises snakes. Mostly pythons. His female had a clutch (?) of about thirteen and he sold them for close to $6000. He is moving to Florida and can't take the snake, so I took her to a pet store yesterday to be shipped to the new owner.
