Just don't understand why people are so afraid of harmless snakes. Venomous I can understand.

Anyway, how big was this fella? Can't tell if it is a juvenile or not. Looks like a juvenile Black Rat Snake. Very beneficial creature. It's a shame you killed him instead of just putting him somewhere else.
