Nick,I don't believe I'm tightening the tailstock to much,as I just started having this problem recentlly,and I really watch that close when I put the piece on.

Greg I ordered that mandrel saver,but they sent me the M1, but the M2 is on the way I even got a new mandrel and it read the same as the old ones,thats why I thought it may be the mandrel chuck.I just ordered a new chuck,but it's the other type that has the compresion nut,so I'll see what happens when I get the mandrel saver and the new mandrel chuck in,meanwhile I'll give that idea of spinning the blanks around right before sanding.Thanks folks for the advice.
