I was thinking the same John. I had one years ago and it does help, once cutting a spruce bow, it sprang back and hit me on the right earmuff, I was glad I had that protection, and for me that work in a non heated shop, it will not fog which is a welcome thing.
So keep the earmuffs, your ears will be protected from flying projectiles and as a bonus they keep warm...:o))
