Time they are a changing. When I started the kit was:

1/2" spindle gouge
3/8" deep fluted bowl gouge
1/8" parting tool
3/4" spindle roughing gouge
3/8" beading/parting tool
1" skew

Now days the kit would more likely be

Hunter tool (not sure the number) but a mid sized one
Easy wood tools, One round and one "square".
A fluted parting tool
Lee Valley spring loaded caliper
A 3/8" bowl gouge
A 3/8" detail gouge
