We did spend a good amount of time talking about her pointy gouge, a 1/8" point radius and ground at 40 deg. Watching her use the light touch making her cuts was very impressive. I have an gouge that has the same potential in my set and I may try to create the same shape on mine, free hand on a platen.

I was also take by her well developed set of negative rake scrapers and her use of them in many steps in her process. A great day for all.

I will post some pictures later.
