We had another 18" or so of snow the last 3 days. Brings the total for the year to over 100" in VT. This breaks the record here for total snowfall. Spent the morning shoveling the roofs (for the third time) and clearing the driveways. Snow piles from plowing with my tractor are 9' high, as high as my tractor bucket can reach. Snow piles under the eaves are about 4-7' high depending on how much roof is above the pile.
The flip side is that the snowshoeing on our property is as good as it gets. We have about 6 miles of trails. Lot of work to break trail in 16" of new snow (over who knows how much compacted snow under it), but it is light and fluffy and great fun. We were out yesterday when the wind started blowing causing the snow in the hemlocks to blow off causing whiteout conditions. That was really cool. Dogs didn't think much of it though.
All just part of living in beautiful Vermont.
