Barbara,
Flooded: Batteries built with the expectation of adding water have obvious caps to facilitate watering. If there are smaller holes under the vinyl label, I would presume the manufacturer did not want you using those holes.
AGM, Gel and other "Sealed" batteries aren't so easy to distinguish, unless it is noted on the label. If you had to remove a label to see filling ports, they are probably VRLA's (usually AGM). Common batteries from Interstate, Power Battery, Full River, or other distributors would be easy to look up on-line. For example, DCS-105 from Interstate is a Deep Cycle Sealed battery with 105 Amp-hour capacity (at some rate of discharge). Batteries for starting engines are not rated or numbered that way, but there are charts available to look 'em up, and it should be possible to get the charging and maintenance recommendations. I'm far more familiar with true deep cycle batteries, but if I can help you figure out your battery issues, I'll be glad to help. I'll check in tomorrow, or send me info directly: greensun@fairpoint.net
