When I was a wee lad all those many years ago, I used to ride a considerable amount and hang around the local bicycle shop (James Vincent Bicycles, in North Bergen, NJ!) We mix the road guys (me) with the BMX guys (everyone else) and we'd all talk trash about who was faster and better...
There was an old Chinese woman in her 50's to 70's (none of us knew?) who would ride into the shop with the bars turned up like this. We'd always offer to fix it and marvel at the fixed gear wheel on her "clunker". Years went by like this when we finally tripped across her obituary in the paper.
As it turns out, she was an acrobatic cyclist with Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus. She could ride circles around all of us, and probably while popping a nose wheelie...
Thanks for rekinding an old memory...

P.S. We also had a unicycle in the shop, and I just about killed myself trying to learn how to pedal that dang thing. Never did ride it...
