>Around here,an area rich in used hand tools,you could get $40-$50 for that plane if cleaned up carefully(just remove the dirt).As long as everything is right with it.Most #5s I've seen are in fairly rough shape.Badly in need of repairs.Rust spots ,cracked totes,missing parts,worn or poorly ground irons etc.If your plane needs any repair I'd call $40-$50 too high.They really are very common.---Jack
