Subject:
Veneering with hide glue

Moses Yoder
>I have some pretty nice bird's eye maple veneer and was thinking about using it for some upcoming picture frames. I am thinking I will just make my own veneer hammer and use hide glue to stick the veneer down. Frames will only be about 1-1/2" or so wide perhaps over walnut so I can chamfer the edges to get a colored bevel. I am thinking of applying the glue with a small foam roller. Has anyone veneered with hide glue, and if so I would appreciate any pointers.
