>I'm bidding on a chamfer shave at the moment, and the seller has a bunch of other shaves too, including the one linked below, which has a sole consisting of two soles at 90 degrees to each other, and, of course two irons.
My first take on this shave was that it's to deal with reversing grain, for those workers who find it difficult to turn the shave around. It would seem to me that any improvement in production speed would be offset by the rather skimpy hold-down mechanism and the trickiness of getting two set-by-guess-and-gosh irons set right.
Am I missing some other purpose? Was the true purpose to separate fools from their money?
