Stupid, stupid, stupid...

>Allright, call me lazy or cheap, but I though I was real smart when I grabbed some corn cobs last summer, dried them out a bit, and then stuck them on my files as file handles. As the cobs dried out some more they tightend on the files quite well and they sure were comfortable to hold, dirt cheap, and no time involved.

Fast forward to last week. In the fall we got a puppy, and he spends some time with me in the garage. So I was working on a project and had all of my files on the bench. I reach for the rat-tail and it isn't there. Come to think of it the dog isn't there either and it sure is quiet. "Bear" (lab/chow cross, 7 mths old now)was in his corner chomping away and gnawing on the cob, I finally manage to rescue it when he bolts for my bench and pulls down the other 4. One broke.

Now I'm gonna hafta make some wooden file handles.....
