>Hi Frank,

It boggles my mind when I run across a saw such as that Atkins, in that someone in a responsible, decision making position of a company making saws would actually approve the sale of such a mess. Don't they realize that someone might buy that saw and attempt to make it function in the way it was supposed to? When I got that saw it was basically useless. It wouldn't saw jack, mainly due to the amount of set in the teeth. The teeth had obviously been machine set. I'm pretty sure that I am the first to sharpen it. It looked as if it was nearly impossible to start a cut without doing a lot of dragging the saw backward because the teeth here kind of bent in the wrong direction.

Anyway, it was fun to transform it into a very nice functioning saw. Thanks for the compliment.

It's on eBay and probably won't sell for much only because it's not a Disston or and LN..etc. A labor of love, right?
