I just want to clarify what I said:
I said the first part. but not the second. If you are buying (which they did) wood already sawn into - say drawer stock you don't have to mill it thinner and you just have to quickly plane out the saw marks. But you still have to cut it to length - so you need a crosscut saw of some sort and maybe to width. Now with drawer sides you can use a small saw but if you are assembling a carcass with 3/4" timber you might not have much surfacing to do but you will still have to cut boards to length and cut stuff to width.
