Some cedar is phytotoxic, so this could be a very bad idea. The cedar I get has been fine, but then it is usually juniper. Most cedar is no cedar. Some cedar is hardwood, most is softwood. Go figure, if it looks kind of like cedar and is aromatic like cedar, then we call it cedar.
