>I got my motising machine moved in and tried a few cuts with it. It's an interesting tool, in that the chisel goes deep in softwood, and repeated cuts are not required for full dept mortises. The machine doesn't have a lot features. Apparently my Grandfather's had all the modern positioning slides one finds on industrial mortisers.

I think I will learn a little about hand work from the machine since the best process is different from what I do with hand tools.
