>This is an original Shaker Spectacle Case made of cherry, in a museum in Phila. It was posted on Village Carpenter's Blog, which is where I lifted the photograph.

The construction is what is unusual, a slab box, I thought that idea was new? I sure would like to know what the inside looks like.
