Yet again, Lee Valley has a stunning catalog cover. Which I have a question about.....The cover photo shows an array of better than a dozen 'fish decoys', carved by Don Preston. For those who didn't receive the LV catalog, the link below shows a likeness of it.

My question: What is a fish decoy? And how are they used? When I saw the cover photo, I thought they were what we always called 'fishing lures'. But I don't see the treble hook on the bottom of these.

Wiley...who never caught anything on a lure (except for purple worms)
