>Sure, I see, we're going for behavior modification here. :) Speaking as someone who has worn glasses since 3rd grade (OK, I was stubborn, paid no attention to those who said don't read by flashlight in bed when you've got the measles), I'd say get him an additional pair and leave one or the other in his school backpack/brief case. If he's far sighted, he has no need to put on glasses first thing. If he's near sighted, he knows he can't see when he gets up.

As to your hanging container, make sure the interior is sanded smooth and shellaced, then apply a little renaissance wax. I wouldn't worry about pours on the interior, you don't see them, the glasses don't care, and probably your son won't feel them.
