>Thanks, Pam. I see now that I should have supplied some additional details though my principle interest was in my original shellac/wax question (and I was trying to avoid too long of a post). This is not technically a box...or rather it is a box with no top...kinda. One of my sons has a loft bed and he complains that after reading in bed at night before turning in, he has no convenient place to put his glasses so that he pick them up and put them back on first thing in the morning. This has lead him to forget to take them to school on occasion (a bad thing!). So I've made him a small plaque-like wall-hanging, the bottom third of which is a small open-ended box into which he can place his glasses and other (very) small objects for overnight storage...and hopefully this means he won't forget his glasses when he goes to school (or so he assures me).

So, my thinking is I want the inside of this box to have at least as much finish as the outside.
