Good work. I knew you knew all that elementary stuff, but just couldn't think of anything else right then.

But this is an excellent thread, because I would venture a WA guess that half the people who own bedrocks, or bedrock type planes (LN, Clifton) have at one time or another left those hold-down screws a little loose after adjusting. That's usually the first time you discover that those two screws are what is holding the entire mechanism of the plane together, by indirect action.
