>Must be the 19th at the museum they had a few before that not sure how many though. They had at least one in Occidental and one at the Luther Burbank Center maybe a few others. The museum is a great venue and the show is generally there largest draw of the year. I was in the first 10 until I moved and always tried to step it up for the piece I entered.
Bill I totally agree on your rant about euro hinges on pieces in a show like that or in gallery work. But Robin's point is valid also I'm currently working on a piece that would have been perfect for butt hinges and hand cut dovetail drawers that were hand fit, the budget and the client called for full extension drawers on metal glides. It's still a very nice piece, if I were building it as a spec piece to go in a show or gallery I would have hand cut the drawers and used butt hinges.
Did they just have the one judge, usually they had 2 or 3 and would have an open critique a couple of days before the show opened which was always very interesting and informative.
