You asked what woods I work with. I have probably worked fifty or sixty woods in my business, but most work is limited to about ten woods- kiln dried domestic hardwoods and mahogany and white pine. When you work for others you have to use what they ask for. Some woods I wouldn't mind working all the time and other woods I wouldn't mind if I never saw again.
I think a limited palette of woods is probably better for craftsnmanship. When I work the same wood for a long period the quality of the work and the ease of working both improve.
