Have you noticed anything similar with your Japanese chisels and your LV/Norton waterstones?"
That I can't answer, because I've used a secondary bevel that doesn't go up to the lamination line. I know, I know, I'm not supposed to do that, but the chisels don't seem to mind so far...
I'll get a coarse stone to flatten the bevel tomorrow...
